Although not super visible in the images, this is a two-color batik cloth. The first color is a light blue, and then the last color is an indigo blue.
Each yard is truly one-of-a-kind, as no two pieces are exactly alike due to the handmade process. Please also note that since this cloth is handmade, the color and pattern may vary slightly throughout the fabric.
This cloth was made using the traditional wax-resist technique, where hot wax is hand-painted onto the fabric, dyed, and removed layer by layer to build up rich, layered color. Three separate rounds of waxing and dyeing went into creating the depth of blue you see here, moving from soft sky blue through violet into deep indigo.
If you purchase more than one yard, you will receive continuous yardage cut from the same piece.
100% cotton | Pre-shrunk from the dyeing process | Each yard measures 36 inches long. Please see shop description for fabric width.
